Charity of the month Nov 2018: Unity Gym Project
23 November 2018
Charity of the month Nov 2018- Unity Gym Project is more than just a gym!
Meet our #CharityOfTheMonth for November: Unity Gym Project! The Unity Gym Project is a charity that has been running in the inner city suburb of Broomhall in Sheffield since 2010. The charity is committed to the promotion of health and wellbeing, but it doesn’t stop there! The project is especially devoted to community development and helping Sheffield children reach their full potential and get the most out of life! What’s more, Unity Gym Project is honoured to be amongst the 3 chosen charities of the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Magid Magid!
Member or none member, everyone is welcome to join the fully equipped fitness gym. Having experience with gym equipment is not required as the qualified fitness team will support you every step of the way. The volunteers of the project underline the importance of life’s most valuable asset -that we sometimes take for granted- health(!) and how important it is to take care of it.
What makes Unity Gym Project special, is its outstanding community work! Mentoring is one of the services that the project provides to young people, supporting their personal and educational development as well as supporting employability. They also organise Youth clubs and trips, activities are all designed to engage young people and improve peer to peer relationships and community cohesion.
Now you know why Unity Gym Project is more than just a gym!
