Festival of Debate - Torture: Why Britain Must Clean Up Its Act
Nice Neighbourhood, Sheffield
Monday, 20 May 2019
6:30pm to 7:30pm
In association with The University of Sheffield & Reprieve.
UK complicity in torture as part of the War on Terror is now a matter of public record. Successive UK governments denied it and sought to prevent independent investigation. Prof. Ruth Blakeley and Jackie Harrison (University of Sheffield) discuss with Sam Johnston Hawke (Reprieve) why UK policy on torture needs urgent reform.
This event is part of the 'Our Democracy' strand which has kindly been sponsored by Sheffield College.
