Migration Matters Festival, Festival of Debate & Wordlife present:

An Evening with Linton Kwesi Johnson supported by Kweku of Ghana (KOG)

Linton Kwesi Johnson

Linton Kwesi Johnson was born in 1952 in Chapelton, Jamaica and moved to London in 1963. He is widely regarded as the father of 'dub poetry', a term he coined to describe the way a number of reggae DJs blended music and verse. He recorded several albums on the Island label, includingForces of Victory & Bass Culture and founded his own record label - LKJ - in the mid-1980s, selling over two million records worldwide.

K.O.G Live

After a crazy tour from Australia to France and across U.K, K.O.G will bring his hypnotic afro-fusion music packed with energy and grooves across the African continent, ranging from highlife, soukous, kwaito and more blending with his trademark expressive vocal variety from rap to opera. The leader of the Zongo brigade will bring us stories and songs mixed with traditional African instruments and his 4-man ensemble from the Zongo music collective.
